Our family has a large dining table and bench made out of a retired bowling alley lane. It developed multiple cracks where the boards were separating. It also needed to be refinished. Not knowing how to fix it, or even where to start, we asked James if he could look into it. He gave us a price quote, and after giving him the green light, he began the work.
The repairs needed were much more involved than originally thought. He patiently and diligently disassembled the table-correcting the issues at their core and even adding in some beautiful improvements in the process.
The rebuilding and refinishing of our table and bench will provide us with many more years of family time around the table. We are thrilled with the excellent work James put in, and highly recommend him for any wood-related project.

We bought a stool from James for our toddler to use in the kitchen and bathroom. Not only is it very sturdy and durable, but it's darling and easy to move round! We love the details and the craftsmanship he put into the stool. Highly recommend his work!

We moved into our farmhouse a few years ago and inherited a custom-built kitchen with a very "tired" built in cutting board. After seeing the work and care that James puts into each of his pieces, we knew that he would be fantastic at bringing new life into the very important part of our home. Through the artistry he showed in picking out the wood, the attention to detail and care to such a custom piece showed in the completed product. He not only gave our cutting board the new life we were looking for but he turned it into a masterpiece. Excellent work!

James built two 24" planter boxes for our camp. They look so good full of beautiful flowers next to our cabins. They really dress up the landscape. He customized them to the size we wanted and did an excellent job. We highly recommend Set Apart Woodworks!

We purchased these beautiful, hand-crafted coasters about a year ago and we use them almost every day for both hot and cold beverages. The beautiful colors in the wood have maintained their lustrous appearance despite regular daily use. The workmanship is truly exquisite.
